Gladys then went to Detroit where she met her future husband and had a family of six children. In 1962 the family relocated to Altadena California and Gladys started working for the Army as a clerical clerk. After some education and classes, Gladys worked her way to be an Industrial Specialist for the Navy at General Dynamics in Pomona and then the last 25 years as a Budget Analyst for Department of Defense at Todd Shipyard in Long Beach California. Gladys retired in 1988 and moved to the high desert. Gladys's quiet determination and hard work shined through in her professional advancement in her career but her first love was her faith in God and her family. Family meant everything to her. Preceded in death by her husband Stanley F. Wagonis in 1970, granddaughter Shawn Michelle Conger in 1983 and her daughters Eleanor Linzey in 1993 and Christine Helen Davis in 2011.
