HERBERT MILLER 7/5/1935 - 4/12/2014 Herb passed away peacefully at his home on April 12th, 2014. He was born in Southgate on July 5th, 1935. His family then moved to Costa Mesa where he and his four sisters grew up. Herb graduated from Newport Harbor High School, going on to work for Glaspar Boat Co. He was part owner of K & M Boat Repair in Orange County, then became a department supervisor for Ericson Yacht Manufacturing. When the yacht company closed Herb went to work for Metropolitan Water District retiring as a department supervisor with the Laverne facility in 1999. In 1987 Herb moved his family to Hesperia where he enjoyed chukkar and quail hunting with friends, his son Derek, and his black Lab "BooBoo" at Opal and Red Mountain. For years he also enjoyed taking his Bronco out into the desert and up into the mountains. Herb leaves behind his wife Jeannie and their two sons. Garret, his wife Nicole and grandchildren, Lexy, McKenna and Wyatt, of Norco. Their younger son Derek, his wife Heather and grandchildren Katelyn ("Partner"), and Hunter, of Charles City, Iowa. Herb is also survived by his first wife Ottily Wallace and their two children. Bret, his wife Lori and grand children Josh and Sara, of Arvada, Colorado. Their daughter Torri, her husband Ron and grandchildren Michael, Madelyn and Morgan, of Ontario. He will be greatly missed by his niece Judie Grimes and the Grimes family of Cherry Valley, Beaumont, Oroville and Idaho Falls. Herb was a constant part of their lives. He will be remembered fondly by numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends. Memorial services for family are pending at this time.
