January 1, 1930 - August 7, 2017

Katie was born over Christmas vacation while the family was snowed in at her paternal grandparents home in AR. Her parents had a family farm in Norman, OK, where she lived until she moved to CA around Pasadena. In her senior year of high school, she met her future husband "Bubby", who she married on Christmas Day 1948. Their first home was in Santa Fe Springs, CA where she raised 3 sons and 2 daughters. In 1991, Katie and her husband moved to their second home in Victorville, CA. She was widowed in January 2003 but continued to live in the High Desert when she was not visiting family around the country. She was saved at the age of seven and will always be remembered for her happy smiling face and for loving her Lord and Savior. She died from complications from her stroke on March 16, 2017, at St. Mary's Hospital in Apple Valley, CA, surrounded by her loving family. She is preceded in death by her parents, her 3 brothers and her husband. She is survived by 2 sisters and their husbands; her 3 sons and their wives; her 2 daughters and their husbands; 20 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Her remains were interred at Rose Hills Cemetery in Whittier, CA. Her memorial service will be held at Lucerne Valley Bible Fellowship at 34824 Rabbit Springs Road in Lucerne Valley, CA on Wednesday, September 20th at 1pm with Pastor Steve Colangelo officiating. Fellowship will follow after the service. Instead of flowers, contact daughter Marie at 760-248-9050 to make donation to Katie's favorite charity.
