LARRY HODGES Obituary

A long time Barstow resident, Larry L. Hodges, passed away unexpectedly on May 28, 2011. He was born in San Bernardino, California along with his twin sister, on August 7, 1939. He worked for Barstow fire department for 12 years and then became a fire inspector and EMT instructor until his retirement in 2005. Member of Barstow FiremanÕs Service Club. Larry was a man with many hobbies. He had a huge passion and knowledge for vintage cars and antiques. He was an avid fan of football and baseball and could be heard rooting for his Dallas Cowboys. He kept current by reading three different newspapers a day. He enjoyed camping out, mountains, hiking and key lime pie. Larry was a proud man and always there for his family. You could always find his cat sleeping on his lap. He was the beloved father of two daughters, Christy and Stacey; one son, Jeffrey; and grandfather to Jason. Adored and cherished by his twin sister Linda Bench; sister, Beverly Lackey; and stepbrother, Donald Braucher. Larry leaves such a void in his family and will be missed beyond words. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to cancer fund.
