LETTIE MARIE HOYT 1/20/1924 - 2/22/2014 Born with 5 brothers in Bardwell, Texas, Lettie was affectionately called "Sis" by her brothers and "Bambi" by her only grandchild. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Ralph "Al" Hoyt, her son, Michael, daughter-in-law, Kandia, along with granddaughter, LeeAnn Lambert and her two great-grandchildren, Kylee and Evan. She and Al were always a flying family, even living at airports and have owned various airplanes throughout their life together. Michael tried to join her on her solo flight, but had to wait to be her first passenger. She was an Air Force wife for 28 years and was always Al's "rightseat" whether flying or at home. She had been a legal secretary, a Civil Service secretary and worked at the Pentagon during her career. She and Al loved to travel and were always flying somewhere together. When they were not flying, she enjoyed their time with the various Model T and Model A clubs that they belonged to. Because of this active life surrounded by airplanes and pilots, both military and civilian, her ashes will be spread by airplane from the Apple Valley Airport. A memorial gathering will be held at the Seaman's Sundowner Ranch in Lucerne Valley on March 15, 2014. The potluck gathering will start at noon and family and friends can contact LeeAnn at 760-248-2185 or Michael at 760-247-5428 for details.
