ROSE KOSIK Rose Kosik, 84 of Victorville, passed peacefully on April 4 at Loma Linda University Medical Center. Rose was born April 6, 1928 in Pottstown, PA, and was known for her faith and love of family. A woman of many talents, she believed in using her gifts to help others. Rose was a volunteer at 2nd Time Around Thrift Store for nearly 20 years, and made beautiful baby blankets and baptismal bibs for Newborns in Need, a nonprofit organization that supports newborn and stillborn babies in area hospitals. Rose was married to Joseph Kosik in 1956 in Pottstown, PA, and raised five adoring daughters. She was a supportive and dedicated military wife, living in many states as well as Bermuda and Panama Canal Zone. She lived in Victorville for 36 years following a final military assignment at George AFB. Rose is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Joseph, two brothers, three sisters, and her son-in-law Kevin Olin. She is survived by five daughters, Joanne (Martin) Miya of Mwanza Tanzania, Carol Olin of Apple Valley, Jenny (Eddie) Cook of Gilbert, AZ, Kristina (Bill) Yager of Phoenix, AZ, Linda (David) Briley of Columbus, NE; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one brother, Thomas Smola and one sister, Anna Krassowski, both of Pennsylvania; brother-in-law Thomas Kosik of San Diego and sister-in-law Sandy Kosik of Pennsylvania. Viewing will be from 4-8 p.m. with Rosary at 7pm Sunday, April 14 at Victor Valley Mortuary on 11th St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am. Monday, April 15 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church on 6th St. in Victorville. The burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Riverside National Cemetery.
