SCOTT R. JOHNSON 12/05/1956 - 4/26/2014 Scott was born in Yorkville, Ill., the oldest of three siblings. In 1975, he joined the U.S. Army and began a decorative 22-year career, retiring as a Sergeant Major at Fort Irwin, Calif. He continued working afterward, most recently as an Army civilian contractor, and also earned a bachelor's degree. But despite Scott's exemplary military and educational achievements, his greatest accomplishments unarguably came as a father. He leaves behind a 30-year-old son, Shea Johnson, and a 36-year-old daughter, Jaime Antonius. He has one granddaughter, Mila Antonius, 11. He is survived as well by his wife, Carol, brothers Steve and Shawn, father, Harlan, and numerous relatives. Known as a handyman who enjoyed working on homes and cars, Scott was also an avid fan of golf, bowling and pool. He grew up not far outside Chicago and carried with him always a rooting devotion to the Cubs, Bears, Bulls and Blackhawks which he passed on tenfold to his son. Scott will continue to be loved and missed by many. A memorial service for Scott will be held 1 p.m. Friday, May 30 at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, Calif. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Scott's name to the
