STEPHEN LOWE

Stephen Lynn Lowe, 62, entered into eternal life on May 16, 2011 at the University Medical Center in San Diego, Calif. He is reunited with his father, Vernon D. Lowe; and his youngest brother, Andrew Lee Lowe Sr., who went to be with the Lord on Feb. 10, 2011. Steve was born on August 3, 1949 in Los Angeles, Calif. He loved baseball and was voted most valuable player in his senior year at Charter Oak High School in Charter, Oak. He was offered a baseball contract with the Chicago White Sox's in 1967 but turned the contract down to join the United States Navy during the Vietnam War to serve with his fellow Americans. After finishing his term in the Navy, he met and married Beverly Birge. Steve worked as a machinist and owned and operated his own trucking business, Lowe & Sons Trucking with his youngest brother, Andrew L. Lowe Sr., in San Dimas, before moving to the high desert in 1990. He is survived by one son, Sunny Lynn Lowe of Yermo, Calif.; one daughter, Brandy Ann Short of Russellville, Arkansas; mother, Darlene C. Lowe of Yermo, Calif., his ex-wife, Beverly Birge of Russellville, Arkansas. He also leaves four granddaughters, Elena, Kristen, and Alyssa Lowe, and Kourtnie Fernandez of Yermo, Calif.; and four grandsons, Preston and Dylan Lowe, and Sabastian and Noah White of Russellville, Arkansas. Other survivors include a brother, Terry D. Lowe and his wife, Joni of Placerville, Calif., Lowell R. Lowe and his wife, Brandy of Daggett, Calif.; sister, Cynthia Long and her husband, Jeff of Claremore, Okla.; sister-in-law, Doreen Anne Lowe of Newberry Springs, Calif.; ten nephews, seven nieces, 23 great-nephews, and 18 great-nieces. Steve's greatest love was his children and grandchildren and family. He will be greatly missed, but never will be forgotten as he will remain in our hearts forever. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Desert Springs, 34805 Daggett Yermo Road in Daggett, Calif.
