Francis McDowell Gault, "Bucky," went to be with his Lord and Savior and reunited with his beloved Joanne on June 21, 2010. Francis was born in Greensburg, Pa. on Jan. 12, 1929 and resided in Victorville for the past eight years.
He was preceded in death by his wife Joanne L. Gault, two brothers, three sisters and two grandchildren. He is survived by son Lawrence W. Gault and his wife Suzanne of Tucson, Ariz., daughter Deborah L. Yniguez and her husband Martin of Newberry Springs, daughter Sandra L. Kilzer and her husband David of Victorville, daughter Amy J. Koval and her husband Ronald of Victorville, adopted daughter Bette L. Gault of Greensburg, Pa., brother Donald Gault and sister-in-law Elsie Gault of Pensacola, Fla.; 16 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and close friends.
He served in the United States Army from 1949 to 1952 where he fought in the Korean War. He was honorably discharged after achieving the rank of Corporal. For most of his life he worked in the aeronautics industry, from which he retired in 1991. He was a member of Victor Valley Masonic Lodge #634 and Victor Valley Order of Eastern Star #537. He loved to travel and spend time with friends and family. You could find him every Monday and Friday at his favorite spot to eat, Richie's Diner. He volunteered at St. Mary Medical Center where everyone was a "friend." Poppa will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know him.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 25, 2010 at 10 a.m. at High Desert Church, 14545 Hook Blvd., Victorville, CA 92394. A reception will immediately follow at the church. Donations in his name can be made to The Shriners' Hospital, 3160 Geneva St., Los Angeles, CA 90020, or the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, PO Box 4072, Pittsfield, MA 01202.
