FANNIE BEATRICE KEY Fannie Beatrice Key, age 90, passed away at her home on Tuesday, November 13, 2012, with family by her side. She was born in Cadillac, Michigan, January 2, 1922. She was the oldest of six daughters born to Teckla and Carson Henderson. She graduated Valedictorian of her high school class of 1940. As she went on to school at Michigan State University in East Lansing, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in General Chemistry. After college, she and her girlfriends went on to Hartford, Connecticut. She worked as an engineer's assistant during WWII at Pratt and Whitney Aircraft. When the war was over, she and her friends took the train out west to Bisbee, Arizona. While working in Bisbee, she met the love of her life, Bill Key. After a brief courtship, they were married May 29, 1947. They were married 59 years, when Bill predeceased her in 2006. Four little girls were born to this union: Susanne Key of Idyllwild, Dianne Key of Tehachapi, Barbara Key of Riverside and Rosemary Barnes of Greenville, CA. She also leaves three granddaughters: Tiffany (Rick) Leonhardt, Kelly (Michael) Colberg, and Rianne Barnes; three great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters. Fannie enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles, playing poker, and patchwork quilting. She was a dear Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Friend and Neighbor who will be missed by everyone who knew her. Memorial services are being held on Saturday after- noon at the family home under direction of Victor Valley Mortuary. 760-245-8164
