MILDRED BENONA GILLETTE Born 5-12-1917 Passed Away 11-13-2012 Benona was born in Blairstown, Missouri, the eldest of eight children born to Mabel and Ruben Peak. She was a resident of Hesperia, CA when she passed away in Victorville, CA. At the age of seventeen she left home and moved to Long Beach, CA to live with her aunt and uncle. It was there she met her future husband, Warren Gillette, who was serving in the US Navy. Warren and Benona were married in 1938 in Long Beach, CA. She is survived by: brothers, Kenneth and Bill Peak; sisters, Quette (Peak) Payne and Gloria (Peak) Street; sons Charles and Ralph; 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren. She has been buried with Warren, her husband of 74 years, at Riverside National Cemetery. A memorial service will be held on Saturday Dec. 8, 2012 at 2:30 PM at Bible Baptist Church. 12626 First Ave., Victorville, CA. Pastor Bob Counts officiating.
