LLOYD DEAN MCKEE Lloyd Dean McKee, 87, of Barstow, went home to be with our Lord, Feb 18, 2013. Son of the late R. Lloyd and Candace (nee Slough) McKee, he is survived by his children, Virginia A. (nee McKee) Evans (Craig) of Nova Scotia, Canada, William P. McKee (Jeri) of Raleigh, NC and Jeffrey L. McKee (Shari) of La Selva Beach, CA; step-sons Michael Wallace (Linda) of Rialto and Timothy Wallace (DeLaine) of Hesperia; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Gloria (Milligan) McKee, son David B. McKee and sisters Arlie Ruth Gread and Beulah Vee Zentler. Dean was born on July 4, 1925 in Clay Center, KS and spent his school years in Abilene, KS. He was active in his church, Boy Scouts, band and worked to help provide for the family. Upon HS graduation, he joined the US Navy and served as a radioman in WWII. In 1945, the family moved to Ontario, CA, where he lived for 41 yrs. He graduated from Chaffey College, Ontario, CA in 1948 and worked 38 years as an electrician, with IBEW Local 477. He served in leadership roles in his local church, the Ontario Lions Club and IBEW. He was known for his deep faith and integrity and loved to work with his hands creating a beautiful home and yard. In his retirement he and Gloria moved to Hesperia, CA where they bred and showed American Eskimo dogs, winning top national awards.
