Elias Ramos, 38, passed away Friday, February 1, 2013 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston.
Elias was born October 12, 1974 in Mexico. He graduated from high school in Haujuapan, Oaxaca, Mexico and moved to Des Moines in 1994. Elias worked for Corell Contractors. He attended St. Pius X Catholic Church and was a member of Laborers Union Local #353.
Elias is survived by his sons, Cristian and Xavier Ramos; parents-in-law, Leo and Beverly Barry; sister-in-law, Michele (Bill) Gates; brother-in law, Matthew (Heather) Barry; mother, Catalina Ramos; brother, Raul (Mireya) Ramos Ramirez; nephew, Jacob Gates; nieces, Jaycie and Bella Hake, Julianna Gates, Mackenzie and Madigan Barry, and Xiadani Ramos; Jesus "Chuy" Lopez and family; and a host of other extended relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jodi Ramos and his father, Raul Rameriz.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3663 66th St. in Urbandale followed by burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 6 p.m. Monday at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, 121 NW 60th Ave. in Des Moines.
Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children's Hospital.

I wish I could of had the chance to tell u, how much of a extraordinary father u were & it will all be shown through ur children as they grow.Thank you u for blessing me with our son Cristian.I wish things wouldnt have been as they were, but at least there were alot more Happier years..I have so much I would love to say but I will close with this,you will never be forgotten & I will always love you for the son we share..
