Avery "Jack" Franklin Davis, 83, of Redfield, IA, passed away, August 4, 2013, at home with his loved ones.
Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, August 8, at McCalley Funeral Home in Adel. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Panther Creek Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, where family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m., with prayer service at 7 p.m.
Avery was born October 25, 1929, in Des Moines, IA. His schooling and childhood were in Toledo, IA. He enlisted in the United States Army, and served in the Korean War. He then married and started a family. In 1975 he lost his wife Beverly A. Davis to cancer. He was a carpenter, mechanic, and over the road driver, and retired as a Veteran of the United States Army.
Avery enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, country music, dancing, Nascar, and watching his humming birds.
Avery is preceded in death by his wife Bonnie M. Davis, Beverly A. Davis, one sister, and two brothers. He is survived by his four children, two sisters, two brothers, and many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
