William A. Clement, Jr.
Des Moines
William A. Clement, Jr., 94, passed away Friday, May 23, 2014 at Trinity Center at Luther Park in Des Moines.
Services will be held at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines on Wednesday, May 28, 2014. Family will begin greeting friends at 11:00 a.m. with funeral service to start at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Bill was born October 22, 1919 in Minburn, Iowa, the son of William A. Clement, Sr. and Avis Roush Clement. He honorably served his country in the US Army. After returning from WWII, he resumed his career at Underwood/Olivetti Business Machines. He was a member of Grant Park Christian Church. Family was always his first priority.
Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Beverly, and his sister, Hesper Ousley. He is survived by his daughters, Christy (Ronald) Bateman and Vicki (Darrell) Bennett; five grandchildren: Kelly (Melissa) Bennett, Aaron Bennett, Lindsey (Jason) Buehler, Jill Bateman, and Kimberly Bateman (Brian Grulke); and seven great-grandchildren: Jake, Soundra, Carli, Cole, Calin, Anila, and Hank.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Animal Rescue League in Bill's memory.

Our family lived next door to the Clement's for many many years. As a young adult I remember walking down Indianapolis street after my bus ride home from work with Mr. Clement. Always a kind word to say and I learned from him lessons in life. Condolences to his family.
