JOHN LEROY HART Indianola John Leroy Hart, 81, of Indianola, Iowa, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, August 23, 2015. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, August 27 at the Indianola Regular Baptist Church with burial following in the St. Charles cemetery. Visitation will be held 4 to 8 pm, Wednesday, August 26 at Overton Funeral Home where family will be present from 6 to 8 pm. Memorials may be given to the Indianola Regular Baptist Church in John's name. He is survived by his wife, Janis Hart; one sister, Joreta Speck; three children, Wayne (Donna) Hart, Kathy (Clifford) Stephenson, and Wanda Hart-Habecker; eight grandchildren, and many grandchildren through the legal guardianship of Glenn (Amy), Walter, and Paul (Becky) Prindle; and thirteen great-grandchildren. A "Celebration of Life" for Lillian will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 29 2015 at The Holiday Inn, "Des Moines Room" 1050 Sixth Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa 50314. Followed by a Repast in the "Des Moines Room" from 1:00-3:00 PM where Family and Friends will enjoy a Luncheon Buffet and Fellowship together.

Heacock, Gary - Des Moines  
Gary Heacock Des Moines Gary Heacock, 79, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2015. He was born December 9, 1935 to Chester and Earlyn Heacock. Gary was an active member of Altoona Regular Baptist Church and Grandview Park Baptist Church. He loved collecting trains of all sizes and models throughout the years. Gary always took pride in maintaining his home and enjoyed mowing the lawn and fulfilling household chores. He is survived by his daughter, MaryAnn (Alan) Smith; step-son, Rodney (Brenda) Deal; 2 grandchildren, Curtis (Amanda) Jackson and Jody (William) Tunberg; step-sister, Winnie (Ted) Johnson; and numerous cousins and extended family. Gary was preceded in death by his parents; and half-brother, Kenneth Heacock. Visitation will be Friday, August 28, 2015 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 29th at the funeral home with burial to follow at Glendale Cemetery. Heckinger, Thomas - Des Moines  
Thomas Heckinger Des Moines Thomas Frederick Heckinger was born on March 16, 1969. He is now with his father, Frederick Thomas Heckinger, in Heaven, whom he loved so very much. Tom had his father's capacity for salesmanship, which he did quite well with retail sales. Tom loved playing high school football and was a loyal University of Iowa fan. He was so very proud of his son Kyler for doing so good in all kinds of sports, and especially proud of him attending the U of Iowa. Tom was an extremely likeable, good guy, and will be missed by many. He loved his sister, Janell Cross, and nephew, Cody Cross, and mother, Yvonne DeCarlo Heckinger. He will be remembered by his Uncle Michael DeCarlo Jr., Aunt Dixie DeCarlo, Uncle Patrick DeCarlo, Aunt Kathy DeCarlo, Aunt Charon Heckinger-Thompson, Uncle Ken Thompson, Aunt Roxanne Heckinger-Clayton, Uncle Don Clayon, as well as his cousins, and numerous friends. A visitation will be held at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home at 8201 Hickman Road, Urbandale, Iowa on Tuesday, August 18, from 5 PM to 7 PM. A funeral service will be held at the same location on Wednesday, August 19, at 10:30 AM.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. also at Murdock Funeral Home on Saturday, prior to the service.Becky passed away Monday, August 24, 2015 in Austin, MN at the age of 67. Survivors include her husband William Herr of Austin, MN; one son Tony (Laurie) Ellis of Ankeny, IA and one daughter Trisha (Rick) Meyer of Austin, MN;one step-son Rodney Herr of Tarpon Springs, FL and one step-daughter Peggy (Greg) Knight of Crystal Beach, FL; two brothers David (Sue) Jarrett of Skandia, MI and Richard (Marge) Jarrett of Des Moines, IA; two sisters Patti (Wayne) Maschmeier of Runnells, IA and Linda (Ed) Kiltz of Des Moines, IA; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Preceding Becky in death were her parents and one sister, Carol Stohr. A memorial has been established in her name and may be left or sent to Murdock Funeral Home. Heyland, Gladyce Irene - Des Moines  
Gladyce Irene Heyland Des Moines G. Irene (Boyer) Heyland was born April 4, 1926 on a farm outside of Thayer, Iowa. She went to a one room school house. She spent a good part of her childhood in Twin Forks, Colorado. Graduated from Thayer High in 1944. She worked in Des Moines until retirement in the insurance industry. First at State Auto and then Allied/Nationwide. She married William T. Heyland on May 30, 1959. They had one daughter Kathleen. After retirement she went back to Grandview College and pursued her passion for writing. She wrote poems and won some awards for them and short stories. She published a book "My Ancestors and Me" which told pioneer stories of her family in Iowa. She moved to Foxborough, Ma to live with her daughter and grandchildren after her husbands death in 2002. There she was quite active writing for the local paper and writing short stories. She made many friends along the way. People always commented on what a nice woman she was. She was always kind to everyone around her. She will be very missed. She passed away April 6, 2015 from lymphoma. She is survived by her daughter Kathleen (her husband Thomas Jean), grandchildren Anya and Sean.

Beverly Ann Hoag Des Moines Beverly Hoag passed away peacefully with family at her side on August 21, 2015 at The Lighthouse in Omaha, NE. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, August 29 at Covenant Presbyterian Church at 1025 28th St, West Des Moines. Beverly was born in Trear, IA to Dorothy and Ray Pryor and lived most of her life in Des Moines and West Des Moines. She graduated from Roosevelt High School and attended Drake University. She was employed at Iowa State Educational Association and continued to give tours at Salisbury House long after she retired. Beverly was active in her church, an avid bridge player, and very proud of her membership in PEO, Chapter KM. Beverly and her husband of more than 60 years, Jerry Hoag, loved spending time together and were loyal followers of the Hawkeyes for over 20 years, even traveling across the country to all of their bowl games. Beverly is survived by her husband and their children, Ginger Simonson (Ken) of Laguna Woods CA, Linda Garrington (John) of Linthicum MD, Jerilyn Frentress (Ed) of Bella Vista AR, and Ron Hoag (Pam) of Omaha NE; eight grandchildren, Kari Borg, Mindy Simonson, Holly Gale, Suzanne Gunning, Michael Frentress, Nicholas Hoag, Lindsay Hoag, and Lauren Hoag; and three great-grandchildren, Anthony Bustillo, Charlie Gale, and Shelby Borg. Beverly was predeceased by her parents, her sister Carma Rae Pryor, and her grandson Noah Garrington. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Covenant Presbyterian Church.
