Gladys Moranville Des Moines Gladys (Monthei) Moranville, 93, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2014, at the Regency Park care facility in Jefferson, Iowa. A visitation will be held on Monday, December 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home in Jefferson. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 23 at 11 a.m. Gladys was born on a farm near Jefferson in Greene County, Iowa, on February 15, 1921, the daughter of Anna (Cox) Monthei and Albert Monthei. In August 1955, she married Douglas Moranville; together, the couple had two daughters, Gretchen and Winifred. Gladys will be greatly missed by her daughters, Gretchen Steichen of Eagan, Minnesota and Winifred Moranville Wolf of Des Moines; sons-in-law Stephen Steichen and David Wolf; grandchildren Jennifer and Geoffrey Steichen; as well as numerous cherished and loving extended family members. Gladys was preceded in death by husband, her parents, and her brothers, Fred, Wayne, and Bane. Memorial contributions may be made in Gladys's name to Grace United Methodist Church in Des Moines, Iowa, where she was a longtime member. Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home, Jefferson 515-386-2171

Mysorski, Marjorie - Urbandale  
Marjorie Mysorski Urbandale Marjorie E. (Babbie) Mysorski, 93, passed away on December 3, at Mercy Hospice-Johnston, after suffering a stroke on November 23rd. Marjorie was born in Swanton, VT to Frederick and Lena (St. Johns) Babbie. Upon graduating from St. Anne's Academy she moved to Northampton, MA where she worked for Western Union for many years, the Needlecraft Shop, Northampton Motors, and also the YMCA alongside her husband, Benjamin Mysorski, retired Y Director. She volunteered at the YMCA Day Camp and overnight camp, was an advisor for the Tri-Hi-Y club, the Hospice Shop, and the Red Cross. She was a devoted communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church, a member of the Blessed Virgin Society, and volunteered with the CCD program. She lived in Northampton for 70 years then moved to Urbandale, Iowa in 2009 to be closer to her daughter. Marjorie enjoyed her new home at The Reserve on Walnut Creek and her many new friends and neighbors. She was an active member of The Reserve's Library and Social committees and volunteered with the Read to Me program. She leaves her son, Gary and his wife Genie of Rockport, TX and their children Geoffrey (Laura) and Matthew (Katie); her daughter, Jill and her husband Jim of Urbandale, IA and their children Micaelah (Ben Downing), Benjamin, and Kiera, and close family friend Mary Hellerstedt; her great grandchildren Milo and Sebastian Mysorski; her sisters, Eileen Bisceglia of CA and Beverly Connors of VT; her brother, Roger Babbie of AZ; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; friends and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her husband Benjamin; her siblings, Beulah Larow, Eula Jeanette, Winifred Favero, Anne Charest, Albert Babbie, Herman Babbie, and Leon Babbie; and an infant son. Services were held at Blessed Sacrament Church and burial was at St. Mary's Cemetery in Northampton, MA. Donations in Marjorie's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Friday Friends program through the Johnston Partnership in Johnston, IA
