Anton V. Sunclades, 88, Sioux City, former Des Moines resident died Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City after an heart attack.
Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 17, 2012, in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Fr. Armand Bertrand will officiate. Burial of ashes will be in the Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. The Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home in handling the arrangements.
Anton was born in Sioux City on July 30, 1924. He was raised here and graduated from East High School in 1941. He moved to California and then joined the United States Army
in 1943. He was a machine gunner and served in the Normandy, Northern France and Rhineland. On December 27,1958 he married Lillian M. Monsell in Omaha, NE. The couple moved to Des Moines, Iowa in 1959. He worked at William's Pipeline for 27 years. Lillian died on November 10, 2009 in Des Moines. Anton moved to Sioux City in May of 2012.
He is survived by his daughter, Vickie Adair and two grandsons, Danny and Tony all of Phoenix, AZ. His nephew, Tony and Angela Sunclades of Sioux City aand his niece Mycelle Sunclades of New Orleans, LA, and other nieces and nephews.
