Clarence N. ("Clancy" or "Dick") Dickson, 91, a veteran of WWII and the Korean War, went to Heaven on December 29, 2013, at Wesley Acres. Clancy was born on July 8, 1922, in Des Moines, IA to Charles W. and Delta Snow Dickson, who preceded him in death. He was married March 26, 1955 at Grace Methodist Church to Leotha ("Lee") Karst. Lee and Clancy lived in Urbandale, IA for 36 years, West Des Moines for 13 years, and moved to Wesley Acres Grand in 2008.

Clancy is survived by his wife of nearly 59 years, Lee; daughter, Diane (Rick) Hanson of Northwood, IA; and grandsons, Kyle (Andrea) Hanson and Cody Hanson; daughter, Jean (Ken) Rostron of Llano, TX; and granddaughters, Kelsey and Allie Rostron; his brother, Charles W. Dickson, Jr. of Des Moines, IA; and several nieces and nephews.

On Saturday, January 4, 2014, a time of greeting will be at 9:45 a.m. and a celebration of life service at 10:30 a.m., both at Aldersgate UMC, 3600 75th Street in Urbandale, with a luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the Memorial Fund of Aldersgate Methodist Church, Hospice of Central IA on 56th Street, or the Good Samaritan Fund at Wesley Acres.
