Leo Edwin Trader, 90, passed away Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Kavanagh House on 56th Street surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Federated Church (Chapel) with a 2 p.m. burial at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Leo was born in Topeka, Kansas on June 28, 1922 to Henry and Eathel Trader. He served our country in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II
. Leo married Marian Ruth McElhiney on December 23, 1944 in Boston, MA and was employed by AT&T for 32 years.
Leo is survived by his wife of 68 years, Marian; daughter, Diane (Charles) Wearda of Sheffield, IA; two grandchildren, Jeremiah and Jennifer Kraemer, and great-grandson, Austin Kraemer, all of West Des Moines; three brothers, Wesley (Arlene) Trader of Carrollton, TX, Richard Trader and Harry Trader of Muscatine, IA; and his sister, Irma (Jesse) Fuller of Mondovi, WI.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Gary Lee Trader and infant son, Darrel Arthur Trader; five brothers, Alvin, Clifford, Francis, Harold and Royal Trader; and a sister, Nancy Trader
