Born to Arthur and Margaret Tuttle on February 10, 1947 in Los Angeles, Steve grew up in CA. While in college he started his broadcasting career as a radio news reporter
and later worked as a television news producer or news manager at television stations in San Francisco, Salt Lake City, UT; Portland, OR; Wichita, KS; Davenport, IA (KWQC-TV); and Des Moines, IA (WHO-TV and WOI-TV). After retiring from broadcasting he worked at the Youth Emergency Shelter and Services in Des Moines and as a fundraiser for the American Diabetes Association. He married Jean McGuire in Davenport, IA on March 17, 1990.
He is survived by his wife; daughter Jen Christensen, and son-in-law Brian Christensen of San Mateo, CA; son Adam Tuttle of Santa Barbara, CA; son Ben Tuttle of San Francisco; grandchildren Jack and Owen Christensen of San Mateo; his brother Rich and sister-in-law Susan of San Rafael, CA; and nephew Alex Tuttle of Jerusalem, Israel. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Steve was a loving husband, son, brother, father, grandfather, son-in-law, brother-in-law and uncle. His humor and emails will be missed terribly. He found joy in renovating his small farm in central IA. Although a fourth generation Californian, he had a love for the state of IA until his death.
