Kathryn DeVries Obituary
Adel
Muriel passed away on January 9. She was born April 20, 1918 to Emil and Ella Miller in Wellsburg, IA. On January 20, 1937 she married Raymond DeVries, and they moved to the family farm where they lived for 60 years raising their four children. Ladonna (Lyle) Potts, Waldport, OR., Keith (Barb) DeVries, Ackley, IA., Dallas (Bev) DeVries, Hampton, IA., Adella (Gary) Nelson, De Soto, IA. She had eleven grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters Leola Abels and Miriam Miller.
She moved to Adel following the passing of Raymond. She is also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one granddaughter.
She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Adel. At Muriel's request, private graveside services were held at Oakwood Cemetery in Ackley.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of donor's choice. On line condolences can be left at www.mccalleyfuneralhome.com.
