I played football with Shive at Ellworth College the fall of "61. He was one tough dude. I always hated to have to go against him in practice, because, even though we were close friends, that didn't matter in practice.
We nick- named him "Wally" from bar in Iowa Falls called Wally's.
I am so sorry for your loss.

I went to Valley High School with Dick. He was a great guy to be around, friendly and easy going. We played many sports together and he was an excellent teammate and friend. My deepest sympathy at this very sad time. May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
