Willis Page passed away January 9, 2013. He was born September 18, 1918 to Thomas and Rachel Page in Rochester, NY.
Willis graduated from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester. Maestro Page was a former conductor of the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra, as well as several other internationally renowned orchestras, including the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo, (first conductor), the Boston Pops, the Buffalo Philharmonic, the Nashville Symphony and orchestras in Des Moines, Israel, Toronto and many others.
He is predeceased by three sisters Jennie, Florida and Atlanta and a brother Thomas. He is survived by the children of his first wife, Jean: his son Dr. Stephen Page and his daughter Sylvia Page Nicol, three grandchildren Amy, Henry and Oliver, and his beloved companion of many years, Dorothy Norman, as well as many other friends and relatives.
A memorial service was held 11a.m. Saturday, January 12 at San Jose Church of Christ, 6233 San Jose Blvd. Jacksonville, FL.

Sorry this is so late, but I just read the sad news. My wife and I met Willis and Dorothy at O'Steens shrimp house in St. Augustine, when we were seated together. I played drums with Jim Reeves, and we made an instant connection through music. Actually Dorothy and my wife Diane sang a song while sitting in the restaurant. it was great fun, and we laughed and had a fine time, through that chance meeting there. That was 6-7 years ago, and I have often thought of Willis and Dorothy. He was a fine man, and will be missed by many people I'm sure. What a long and wonderful life....well lived.
Glad I met him.
