Amber Rae Johnson Mordini, 38, of Grimes, passed away March 3, 2013, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines of a cerebral hemorrhage and following Amber's request she donated her organs to help others.

Amber was born June 22, 1974, in Des Moines, to William and Patricia Johnson. She was a graduate of Madrid High School, where she enjoyed cheerleading, and graduated from AIB. She is presently employed by Aviva Investments as a Business Analyst III - Six Sigma Black Belt.

In 1994, Amber and Robert Mordini were united in marriage. They were blessed with two sons, Michael and Andrew.

She was a member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Polk City where she has been a Sunday School and Bible School teacher. Amber ran and finished both the Atlanta and New York Marathons. Amber had a passion for family and friends, while enjoying fishing, Scrabble and dancing. She also enjoyed with reconnecting with classmates and friends through Facebook.

Survivors include her sons, Michael and Andrew of Polk City; daughter, Natalia; parents, Bill and Trish Johnson of West Des Moines; fiancé, Bryan Miller of Grimes; grandmother, Irene Wilcox and step-grandfather, Reuben Peterson both of Madrid; aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Amber was preceded in death by her sister, Terra Johnson and grandparents, Bill Wilcox and Kenneth and Kathryn Johnson.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 7, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Westover Funeral Home. Services will be held Friday, March 8, at Faith Lutheran Church in Clive at 11 a.m. with interment at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Madrid.

The family requests that memorials be given to the family to establish a college fund for her children.
