Carl Potthoff


Carl Henry Potthoff Jr., 88, passed away at his home in Prineville with family by his side. A private family Celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Carl was born April 12, 1924 in Des Moines, IA to parents Gladys and Carl Potthoff Sr. He grew up in Des Moines, IA and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1943. Carl joined the U.S. Marine Corp and proudly served as a marine in the pacific during WWII. After graduateing from Business College as a mechanical contractor, he owned and operated the family business of Potthoff - Rosene Plumbing and heating for many years.

Carl moved to OR in the late 1970's to be closer to his children and he took advantage of the outdoor activities that he enjoyed. He was an avid fisherman and spent many hours on the lakes and rivers all over OR.

He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Marion; his children, Greg Potthoff of Prineville, OR; Carlye and husband Peter Seitz of Terrebonne, OR; Julie Mangel and husband Bill of Terrebonne, OR; Step children, Sandra Rollinson of Portland, OR; Scott and wife Amy Howe of Sherwood, OR; as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family would like to give a special thank you to St. Charles Hospice of Prineville.
