Dave Loren Chapman, 66, of Norwalk, passed away on January 16, 2013 at home with his family, from complications of heart failure and cancer.
A Memorial services will be held at Brooks University Chapel, 7975 University Blvd in Clive on Monday, January 21 at 10 a.m. He will be laid to rest next to his mother and father in Osceola, IA.
Dave was born October 28, 1946 in Des Moines to John and Frances Chapman. He grew up in Beaverdale, graduated Roosevelt High School in 1964 and attended college at Parsons, Grand View and Simpson. After college, he began working for Sears where later he would meet his wife Karen, whom he married in April 1977.
Dave enjoyed playing football and basketball, being outdoors, boating, taking drives, spending time with his family, and watching his Iowa Hawkeyes. He will be remembered for his great story telling abilities and his devotion to his family.
He is survived by his wife Karen of Norwalk, daughters Kari (Travis) Luedtke of Norwalk and Kelly Chapman of West Des Moines, brother Roger (Lynda) Chapman of Johnston and two grandchildren Ashley and Owen Luedtke of Norwalk. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family would like to thank Becky, his in- home Hospice nurse for her kindness, Barb from Mercy Home Health Care Services and Patty from Mercy Hospice for their wonderful care. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials go to Mercy Hospice of Johnston.
