Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, October 29, 2011 at the United Methodist Church in Everly. Visitation will take place at Warner Funeral Home in Everly on Friday from 2 to 9 p.m. with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will take place at the Lone Tree Cemetery in Everly. Del was born February 17, 1937 in Spencer Hospital, the son of John and Lucille (Barron) Wieben. He was raised and educated in Everly graduating in the class of 1955. After graduation he attended Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. Del married Donna Emmert on June 9, 1957 at the Royal Methodist Church, following their marriage, he farmed in the Everly area with his father, John. He attended Palmer Chiropractic College in Davenport, Iowa and graduated in 1974. He started his practice in January of 1975 in Mapleton, Iowa and also had a satellite office in Ankeny, Iowa where he eventually resided until he retired in 2002. Del & Donna moved back to the Wieben family farm in 2002. They also enjoyed spending the winter months in their home in southern Texas. Del was a devotional husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. His family was the most important part of his life which he cherished each and every one of them and had special moments with them all. He was an active member of Everly United Methodist Church, Commercial Club and the American Chiropractic Society. In his spare time, Del enjoyed golf, sports, working in the yard on his John Deere tractor and taking care of his baby kitty.

Del is preceded in death by his parents and one son, Douglas John Wieben.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Donna of Everly; two sons and their wives: Dean and Tami Wieben of Corpus Christi, TX and Dennis and Judi Wieben of Ankeny, IA; grandchildren: Jamie Wieben of Ankeny, IA, Nicky Christopersen and husband, Jason of Whiting, IA, Chase Larson and Austin Ferraro both of Corpus Christi, TX; great-grandson, Curtis wieben Stinson, Jr. of Ankeny, IA; sister, Barbara Johnson of Punta Gorda, FL.

Dear Wieben Family
We are so very sorry and sadden to learn in the passing of Doc! He was a great person! Not only our Dr. but our friend! We have many fond memories of Doc and will always cherish each of them. We always looked forward to seeing Doc and Donna, listening to thier stories, the hearty laughs, and Doc always had a joke to tell ! May God rest his wonderful soul and he be at peace and good health. We are deeply sorry we are unable to be with you during this time. Our sincere sympathy to Donna, Dennis and Family , Dean and Family. Each of you are in our thoughts and prayers.
