For 40 years, Jackaline supported higher education serving for over 30 years as a member of the board of directors at Dubuque University. There she helped build their Technology Center which bears her name and many other projects and programs including one to aid students in traveling outside the United States. She provided computers and computer programming to offer distant learning capability for Dubuque Seminary students off campus. In addition to supporting Dubuque University, she supported programs at Lindsey Wilson University, Columbia Kentucky, including one for students to experience off campus learning opportunities. She also endowed a scholarship program for students in education at South Florida University in St. Petersburg. During these years she helped many individuals obtain their educational goals.

In 1974 Jackaline purchased the 12 acres behind their home and with hard physical labor and vision, she and Paul converted a corn field into a beautiful arboretum and meadow. This spring she donated the 12 acres and their home to the City of Urbandale to be used as a park.
