Rick and Kris, Tamee called me today to tell about your dad's passing, and when she related that in the obituary Ken, too, had passed, I couldn't believe it. I babysat all four of you, and your folks were like my second parents. I am so sad today. May good memories of both of them make this tough time easier. My prayers are with you and your families. I was so sorry to hear the news from my Mom today. I have many great memories of growing up together, and the crazy adventures we all ended up doing. I especially remember our families doing a breakfast cookout in the cold and snow one year. So many good and fun memories. My deepest sympathy for all the loss you have experienced.

My mom told me the news tonight-I always knew him as Jurgens-one of my father's (Derek Nuckolls) closest friends also-eccentric, outgoing & always happy to see you! I remember him at my father's service-he stood out w/his cane-rings-& larger than life persona-it was great! Saw him a few years later at a Pink Floyd Laser Light Show at the Civic Center - which was absolutely priceless!

I was so saddened to hear this news from my mother today. I have such fond memories of playing with Ken and Rick while growing up -- what fun distant cousins can have. The days of playing in the tuba section of the North High band also bring a smile to my face. My thoughts and prayers are with Norm, Rick, Kris and their families during this difficult time.

The halls of North High are diminished with Kenny's passing. Prayers and thoughts to Norm and his family. Remembering you as the active neighbor boy across the street while we grew up together in Highland Park. Your 1968 North High class page: http://www.ndmhs.com/pages/yearclass1968(2008.40).html

So sorry to hear of your loss. I have known Kenny all my life. He even used to carry a negative of a picture of him holding me as a baby in his wallet. He was a good friend to my father (Douglas Sandvig). My deepest sympathy to your family. - Shannon (Sandvig) Straight
