Kenneth O. Kirsch, 70, of Marshalltown, IA passed peacefully to his Lord and Savior, Wednesday morning, May 16, 2012, at Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at St. Mary Catholic Church, in Marshalltown. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. vigil service at Estel Perrin Avey Funeral Home, in Marshalltown. Online condolences may be sent to www.vogelfuneralhomes.com.

Kenny attended Holy Angels Grade School in Roselle, IA, and was a 1960 graduate of Kemper High School in Carroll, IA. He was a man ahead of his time as he saw into the future and appreciated innovations in technology. Kenny was a jack of all Trades and enjoyed restoring equipment to new life. His interests included entrepreneurship, (Hawkeye Sales & Forklifts), agriculture, construction, and politics. In recent years Kenny enjoyed gardening, was an avid collector of plastic vintage radios and vinyl records, and took pleasure in attending concerts.

Kenny is survived by his wife, Myrna and her sons, Brent and Ross; his daughters, Dr. Janice Kirsch of Clear Lake, IA, Sheryl and Bob Mortenson of Emmetsburg, IA, and Carol Kirsch of Des Moines, IA; grandsons, Zach and Bobby Mortenson; and his former wife, Marikay Kirsch of Urbandale, IA. Kenny came from a large family and is survived by his siblings, Norbert and Mary Lou Kirsch of Carroll, IA, Victor and Rosemary Kirsch of Adams, NY, Sister Carrie Kirsch FSPA of LaCrosse, WI, Larry and Donna Kirsch of Aurora, CO, Allen and Pat Kirsch of O'Fallen, MO, JoAnn Cale of Carroll, IA Leanard Kirsch of Mt. Airy, NC, Dorie and Larry Bruening of Round Rock, TX, and many nieces and nephews. Kenny was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Carleen; parents, Nick and Mary Ann Kirsch; a brother, Marvin and Elsie Wiskus; sister, Glenda Kirsch and Rale Cale.
