Marjorie Esther Skeens Sease

Marjorie, 79, passed away December 31, 2012 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, January 5, 2013 at First Baptist Church, 8250 NW 62nd Avenue in Johnston with burial to follow at Altoona Cemetery. The family will greet friends Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church.
Marjorie was born in Solon Springs, WI to Carl and Bessie Dahlberg on July 30, 1933. She married Ronald Skeens and traveled extensively as he was enlisted in the Air Force. They began AAA Security in Des Moines and she retired as Vice President from the company in 1996. Marjorie married Gene Sease on July 3, 1987 and loved him dearly. They enjoyed traveling and spending time with each other and with their families.
She will be remembered as a loving and faithful wife, mother and grandmother who was devoted to her family. Marjorie's Christian faith was very important to her and was a member of First Baptist Church in Johnston. She also loved music and was an accomplished pianist and organist, who enjoyed playing at numerous churches throughout her life. Above all, Marjorie will be remembered as a generous and caring woman who always put others first. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Gus and George Dahlberg.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Gene Sease of Johnston; children, Kathryn (Estrella) Skeens of CA, Thomas (Karen) Skeens of Johnston, Joseph (Kathy) Skeens of Clive, John (Leann) Skeens of IL, Mark (Dee) Skeens of MN, Jean (Ken) Caulkins of Collins and Jerry Sease of Oskaloosa; 22 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Jeanita Filipak of WI, Carl Dahlberg of MN, Mary Myhre of OR, Thea Cole of Mt. Vernon and Christine Hilbert of MN.
