Mihail Anousis, 84, died on December 2, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 7 at Greek Orthodox Church of St. George, of which he was a member. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., with at Trisagion service at 7 p.m. Tuesday evening at Merle Hay Funeral Home (4400 Merle Hay Rd., Des Moines). Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mihail was born in Athens, Greece. He immigrated to the United States in 1976 and became a citizen. Mihail retired as a custodian at East High School. His hobbies included reading, playing backgammon, and riding his bike.
Mihail will be missed by his daughter, Katina (Georgios) Stampologlou of Nikaia, Greece; sons, George (Joy) of Pleasant Hill and Efthimios "Mike" (Theresa) of Des Moines; twelve grandchildren, Tasoula, Eleni, Michael, Nikko, Jimmy, Kaitlin, Christina, Vicky, Eleni, Alex, Jeremy and Joshua; nine great grandchildren, Yianni, Katina and Haroula, Maria, Eleni, Tyler, Alyssa, Ethan, Nash, Layna.
