Norma Beede, 86 of Grinnell and formerly of Montezuma went to be with her heavenly father on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 16, 2013 at the First Presbyterian Evangelical Church in Montezuma. Burial will be held at 2:00 pm at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Des Moines. Visitation will be held from 12 to 4 p.m. on Friday, February 15, 2013 at the Holland Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma and the family will be present from 5 to 7 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Evangelical Church in Montezuma. Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Evangelical Church. Friends may send condolences or sign the online guestbook at www.hollandcoblefuneralhomes.com. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of Montezuma is in charge of arrangements.
Norma Beede, daughter of Clarence and Marjorie (Cox) Roth, was born on February 3, 1927 in Des Moines, Iowa. She graduated from East High School in Des Moines in January of 1945. On November 1, 1946, Norma was united in marriage to Darrel Beede in Des Moines. To this union two children were born, Debbie and Mark. She enjoyed attending the East High Alumni luncheons.
Her memory will be cherished by her husband of 66 years, Darrel Beede of Grinnell; her daughter, Debbie (Mark) Rinehart of Montezuma; her son, Mark Beede of Des Moines; her four grandchildren and families; Scott (Tara) Rinehart and children: Lauren, Mark and Anthony; Jennifer (Greg) King and children: Tyler, Preslie and Piper; Melissa (Andy) Forkner and Jeff (Kelsey King) Beede and daughter, Kinlee; and one sister, Mary Buschusen.
Norma is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Marjorie Roth and her niece, Cindy Scholtz.
