Patrick Farley

St. Paul, MN

Patrick J. Farley, 70, most recently of St. Paul, MN, died on May 6th, 2014, following a brief struggle with cancer. Pat is survived by daughters, Carol Riley of Portland, OR, and Bridget Farley of Clear Lake, IA, and their spouses, Ben Riley and John Brady. He is also survived by four grandchildren, of whom he was extremely proud, Griffin and Wilson Riley, and Josephine and Natalie Brady; and five siblings Jill Brosnahan, Mary Gramling, Jane Duffy, Kate Haluska and John Farley. He was predeceased by his wife, Cryss Farley, and his parents, Vera and Paul Farley. Pat was a longtime resident of Des Moines and part of the local business community in Des Moines from an early age; first, at family-owned Farley's Super Value near Drake University; and later, as owner of Bass & Ringneck, a men's and women's apparel and footwear business that Pat operated at 47th and University for 28 years. Pat's family welcomes friends to join in an informal celebration of Pat's life and to share memories of Pat between 4:30 - 7:30 p.m., Saturday, May 24th at Noah's Ark Ristorante, 2400 Ingersoll Ave., Des Moines. In lieu of flowers, friends are encouraged to make a donation in Pat's name to Hospice of North Iowa (
