Robert K. Gubser died Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at Kavanagh on 56th Hospice House in Des Moines. Memorial services will be 1:30 p.m., Sunday, March 10, 2013, at McCalley Funeral Home in Adel, where family will greet friends after the service.

Robert was a graduate of Adel High School. After graduating high school, he went on to Iowa State University where he went to Veterinary Medical School. He served two years in the armed forces and Vet Corp San Antonio.

Robert was involved in many different organizations including Bagley Lion's Club, ZA GA ZIG Shrine, Jester Shrine Unit, Iowa Realtors Association, Methodist Church member in Bagley, 50 year lifetime member of Masonic Lodge in Perry, lifetime member of Veterinary Medical Association, President and on Board of Directors for Raccoon Valley State Bank, President and on Board of Directors for Rowley Masonic Home, and was on the original Board of Directors for Lake Panorama Development. Robert practiced Veterinary Medicine in Bagley. He was also a Banker for Perry State Bank and Raccoon Valley State Bank, and he sold real estate and managed farms.

He is survived by his wife, Vicki Gubser; daughters, Julie (Jim) Dahlke, Terrie (Jerry) Toms; son, Nick (Amy) Gubser; step-children, Troy (Rhonda) Stanley, Michelle (Dan) Laughery; grandchildren, Jennifer (Scot) Christenson, Jason Chaloupka, Spencer Gubser, Grant Gubser; great-grandson, Colton Christenson; and his first wife, Sandy Gubser.

Robert was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Karl Herbert Gubser; mother, Ruth LaVerne Gubser (Stubbs); brother, Dr. Edward (Polly) Gubser; and sister, Shirley Gubser.
