Tucker, Thomas C. ("Tuck")
Tom Tucker, age 63, of Minneapolis (originally from Des Moines, IA), died unexpectedly March 1, 2012. He was preceded in death by parents, Vicki & Clyde Tucker and nephew, Jon Digranes. Tom is survived by son, Tommy (Katie) Tucker; daughters, Nicky (Andy) Drilling and Jacqueline Tucker; sister, Saunie (Joe) Digranes; brother, Craig Tucker; grandchildren, Nicholas Drilling, Layla Tucker; niece, Kristin Digranes Thomas and significant other, Stacy Semler.
As a teenager, Tom performed and recorded as a singer/musician with IGL and for Motown on the Cadet label . This love of music and his "golden ears" led him to an audio career beginning with Lariam Studios in Des Moines. In 1974 he co-founded Triad Studios, which became the premier recording studio in the Midwest. His success at Triad led him to a move in 1985 to Minneapolis where he was co-founder of Metro Studios and Master Mix Studios, and also managed Paisley Park. This association led to multiple gold and platinum records and a Grammy. Tom's ability to mentor and teach led him to establishing IPR, Master's Recording, and Minneapolis Media Institute - all schools of higher learning in the media industry.
Tom will be remembered and missed by all those whose lives he touched - family, friends, students and professionals.
