Anna E. Manning
Anna E. DeWild Manning, 74, passed away peacefully Friday, February 21, 2014 at Fountain West Care Center in West Des Moines.
Anna was born in Pella, Iowa October 14, 1939, the daughter of Gerrit and Pauline A. DeWild. Growing up she enjoyed swimming and during the summer months, she and her siblings worked as lifeguards. In past years, Anna loved gardening and playing BINGO. More recently, she enjoyed reading and following family and friends on Facebook. Anna's greatest joy came from spending time with her family and she maintained her wit and sense of humor to the very end.
Anna is survived by her children, Mel Manning, Michael (Marion Lehman) Manning Sr., Paula (Joel) VanRoekel and Charlie (April) Manning; grandchildren, Michael Jr. (Carolyn), Crystal, Alex and Levi; great-grandchildren, Grace, Noah and Izzy; siblings, Margo, Gene and Kenny; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Keith; son, Gerald; siblings, Chuck and Donna; and grandson, Jake.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street followed by burial at Union Cemetery in Newton, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
