Betty J. Lochmann, 89, passed peacefully and went home to her Lord and her husband of 68 years, Lewis C. Lochmann, on Tuesday, March 18, 2014. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church with a private burial at Resthaven Cemetery.

Betty was born August 5, 1924 in Des Moines, Iowa to Frank and Mildred Dominique. Prior to being a homemaker she worked at Eddie Webster's and enjoyed following the "Solid Gold" music group. She loved spending time and playing bridge with the "GrapeViners" and her church groups. Betty and Lewis were founding members of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church and she was currently a member at Shepherd of the Valley. She was a Valley Tiger fan and loved her grandkids. They made her face light up.

She is survived by her son, Richard (Kathleen) Lochmann; two daughters, Karen (Brent) Jackson and Kristine (Michael) Nicewarner; sister, Lila Adair; and six grandchildren, Dr. Timothy Lochmann, Nicholas and Kaitlyn Jackson, Brandon Throndson, and Emily and Preston Nicewarner. Betty was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and sister, Bonnie Hardesty.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at McLaren's Chapel. Memorials may be given to Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church.
