Janna Katherine Pierick
Janna K. Pierick, 73, was born October 3, 1940, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of William and Verla (Eschenbach) Brown. She passed away April 21, 2014, at Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.
Janna worked at Camp Dodge as a sales representative for 16 years. She was a member of Union Park United Methodist Church and Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War. Janna enjoyed her trips to Prairie Meadows, was a fan of Dean Martin, and above all else, she loved being a Nana.
Janna is survived by her husband of 53 years, James Pierick; children, Jeffrey (Robin) Pierick, Janea Wisecup, and John Pierick; grandchildren, Bryan Pierick, Nicole Pierick, and Summer Pierick, Tony (Rebecca) Wisecup, Taylor Wisecup, Sam Pierick, and Sydney Pierick; brothers, David (Casey) Brown and Bruce (Cindy) Brown; mother-in-law, Opal Pierick; loving dog, Molly; and a host of other family and beloved friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and son-in-law, Jeff Wisecup.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2014, at Union Park United Methodist Church, 2305 E. 12th Street in Des Moines, with a committal service beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter. The family will greet friends Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines.
