Irene G. Anderson died on April 24, 2014 at the age of 97.

Irene had a full life, growing up on the family farm in Perry, IA where she was the fourth child of George and Catherine Glass. She graduated from Washington Township School where she played basketball and the violin. Irene was County Executive Director of the Dallas County Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Association. She met and married the love of her life Paul (Andy) Anderson. They lived in Minburn until moving to Urbandale in 1968. They traveled to many interesting places and were always well read and informed on the political climate. Irene loved to garden and shop.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, James, John, Donald, Leo and Eddie; sister, Catherine Fanion; husband, Paul and three nephews, Robert Richardson, Johnny Richardson and Craig Glass. Left to cherish her life are sisters-in-laws LaNelle Glass and Judy Glass; 26 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Urbandale followed by a funeral mass at 11 a.m. Burial will take place at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.
