Carla Marie Gamm

Carla M. Gamm, 54, formerly of Kansas City, MO, passed away suddenly on Saturday, May 24, 2014 in Des Moines. The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28, at St. Theresa Catholic Church located at Merle Hay Road and University Avenue in Des Moines, where a rosary will begin at 5 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 30, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Raytown, MO, with an additional visitation one hour prior to the Mass at the church. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Raytown, MO.

Carla was born in Bethesda, Maryland and lived in Des Moines for many years. She attended Franklin Junior High school and Roosevelt High School before moving to California with family and graduated from San Clemente High school, then attended Saddleback College and attended University of Iowa. Carla received her degree from University of Missouri Kansas City. She was a product specialist at Briggs Corp for many years and later was employed with Mrs. Clarks Foods. Carla had a loving heart and was a friend in need. She was a member of the Lions Club for many years and volunteered for St. Vincent de Paul and Salvation Army and sponsored a child in Nigeria. Carla was a lifelong catholic and active member of St. Theresa Church.

She is survived and lovingly remembered by her mother, Gail Gamm; three brothers, Charles (Stephanie), John (Donna) and Allen; sister, LeAnne; and nieces, nephew, cousins, aunts, uncles and many lifelong friends who will always remember her wonderful laugh and funny one liners. Carla was preceded in death by grandparents; father, Charles Gamm; one nephew, Charles Gamm III; and one cousin Amy Gamm.
