Palmer, Patricia (Savard) age 86, died peacefully at Carondelet Village on July 9, 2014. Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony "Tony", her parents, Octave and Agnes and her sisters, Jeanne (Ben) Winkler Schreiner, Lois (Jerry) Morson, Geraldine (Tim) Garvey. She is survived by brother-in-law, Rev. Frank Palmer and sister-in-law, Mary Palmer Grochala; many loving nieces and nephews and their children as well as numerous friends. Pat received a BA from the College of St. Catherine (now St. Catherine University) and a MA in Liturgy from the University of Notre Dame. A former Sister of St. Joseph of Carondelet, Pat was a teacher and principal in several Catholic Schools including St. Leo's in St. Paul and Christ the King in Minneapolis. As a "Frontier Apostle" in the 1970's, Pat served as principal of Notre Dame School in Dawson Creek, British Columbia. Pat loved visiting with family and friends. She had a sweet tooth and was known for her culinary specialties including strawberry bread, coconut macaroons, and peanut brittle. Her spirit of generosity and hospitality brought joy to the lives of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am on Thursday July 17 with visitation 1 hour prior to mass at Carondelet Village Chapel, 525 Fairview Ave So., St. Paul. Interment at Church of St. Peter Historic Cemetery, Mendota Heights, MN. Memorials preferred to Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, St. Paul, MN Province Sisters Ministries; Dorothy Day Center of St. Paul; St. Matthew's School in St. Paul-Alumni and Friends; or Roman Catholic Diocese of Des Moines, IA.
