With his family by his side, Al passed away at the Kavanagh House at 12:06 a.m. He was dearly loved by many and was a wonderful family man. He worked hard and he gave generously.

He was involved in the Nurseryman's Association of Iowa, the Lions Club, President of the Urbandale school board and was a Boy Scout leader. Everybody loved Al.

Al loved working in the yard, meticulously planting any and everything in his beautiful gardens, and growing the biggest, best tomatoes.

He is survived by his brother, Rudy (Sharon) and by Al's children, Michael, Crystal (Frank) Miller, Debbie, Robert (Michelle). He has 15 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
