Joyce Lee Wisgerhof, 72, passed away on May 30, 2012, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, June 4, 2012, at Grace United Methodist Church with burial to follow at Glendale Cemetery.

Joyce was born on August 14, 1939, in Newton, Iowa to Pauline (Wells) and Gerald Rankin. She grew up in Gilman, Iowa, graduated from Gilman High School and later received an Associate Degree. Joyce married the love of her life, Jerry Wisgerhof, on July 22, 1958, in Marshalltown, Iowa. They made their home in the Des Moines/Urbandale area where they raised their three sons.

Joyce worked for over 30 years for Homesteaders Life Company. She was a member of the Des Moines Area Quilt Guild, the Ankeny Quilt Guild, the Red Hat Society and other social organizations. Joyce enjoyed lunches, coffees, dinners and any get togethers with her many, many friends. She especially enjoyed Sunday breakfast with her family and watching her grandchildren at the fair

Joyce is survived by three sons, Jeff (Robin) Wisgerhof of Dallas Center, Gregory (Kathy) Wisgerhof of Van Meter, and Timothy Wisgerhof of Des Moines; four grandchildren, Jake (Ashley) Wisgerhof, Charlie (Dave) Miller, Taylor Wisgerhof and Allison Wisgerhof; three sisters, Janet (Harry) Scurr of Gilman, Beverly Rankin and Debbie Smith, both of Grinnell, and her brother, Denny (Carla) Rankin of Lineville, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jerry Wisgerhof and her niece, Sara (Rankin) Walkup.

Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 3, at Iles Funeral Homes-Westover Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the . Online condolences may be sent to IlesCares.com.
