Dorothy Mae Everly Obituary
Dorothy Mae Everly

Dorothy Mae Everly, 89, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, November 16, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, November 20, at Bondurant Federated Church. The family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, November 19, at Ankeny Funeral Home.

Dorothy was born to Pearl Cleo (Haney) and William Franklin Lewis in Bondurant, Iowa, on May 17, 1923.

Dorothy spent her life farming beside her husband and taking care of her family. Dorothy loved her family and her most enjoyable times were family gatherings. She loved holidays, birthdays and anything that would bring her family together. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and always preferred cooking for her family rather than eating out, because she could make it tastier, and for less money.

She was preceded in death by her parents, infant son, Aubrey Leslie III, infant daughter, Marcia Lynne, daughter, Ann Davis, and sister, Naomi LaPointe.

Survivors include her high school sweetheart, life-long joy and husband of 70 years, Aubrey Everly; son-in-law, Roger Davis, son, Keith (Ellen) Everly, daughters, Naomi (Bruce) Schwenke, Doreen (Terry) Townsend, son, James (Calista) Everly; grandchildren, Lisa (Hank) Hanson, Nathan (Lorraine) Davis, Mark (Erin) Davis, Gina (Owen) Hoff, Ken (Megan) Everly, Beth Schwenke, Leanne (Louis) VanderStreek, Derek (Amy) Townsend, Kurt Townsend, Caleb Townsend, Shannon Sullivan, Michelle Sullivan, Rachael Everly, and Aubrey James Everly; great-grandchildren, Aubree Edwards, Molly and Kyle Hanson, Alex and Tyler Davis, Hayden, Hudson, and Avlyn Davis, Devin, Bradyn, and Ethan Hoff, Sandler and Noah Everly; and sister Geraldine (Bob) Tufts.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Robert Shreck, his nurse, Katie, and Iowa Health Hospice for their caring support.
