Not sure what to say?

I cherish the memories of a true friend, more like a brother. We loved fishing, hunting Indian artifacts and mushrooms. Or just sitting back and enjoying the moment with music and playing a game. Veterans of the same era, we shared strong love of country. The world was a better place with Jim. R.I.P. Brother. Love you and miss you.

Although we lost touch with each other many long years ago, I still have fond memories of growing up with Jim, who had always wanted to be a Marine just like his dad, Denny. Jim and I shared a love of fishing as did both of our dad's, who were lifelong friends. Every summer as teenagers we looked forward to those overnight fishing trips out on the riverbank in search of the ever elusive catfish. I can still see all of us sitting around the campfire, swatting at mosquitoes, munching on hot dogs and burnt marshmallows and best of all … being together as friends listening to yet another tall tale of the big catfish that got away. Rest in peace my friend.

So very for your loss, I didn't have an opportunity to know Jim much after high school but I grew up with Jim and went to a VFW ball with him--was proud to accompany a veteran. I spent many summers camping with his grandparents Mildred and Lester Shoning. Millie was my grandmother's best friend and I still have a plant that she gave me a start from. Jim and I explored the woods in many locations as children. Thoughts and prayers...GOD's speed Jim. Wilene Elaine Larpenteur-Class of '73 and childhood friend.
