Donavon J. Schuster, 83, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2013, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center.
He was born January 30, 1930, in Rockford, Iowa, the son of Edward and Hilda (Billings) Schuster. He graduated from Rockford High School. Don proudly served his country during the Korean War on the 38th Parallel. On August 10, 1955, Don was united in marriage to Juanita Jones. They resided in Rockford, Iowa, until moving to Des Moines in 1957, where Don worked as a television technician. Don was an avid Hawkeye fan. Don was a caring and giving person and will be deeply missed by his family.
Don was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Veldon, Charles and Vaughn. He is survived by his wife, Juanita; and two sisters, Beverly (Bill) Bowen, of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Sharon (Larry) Koch, of Eldridge, Iowa; sister-in-law, Judy Jones of Des Moines and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 30 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Mason City, Iowa.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to John Stoddard Cancer Center or the Animal Rescue League of Iowa.
