Floyd Warren Dare
Floyd Warren Dare, 88, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Kavanagh on 56th St.
Floyd was born in Des Moines September 15, 1924 to Floyd E. and Lillian Mae (Lundgren) Dare. He was a U.S. Army veteran. In 1946, he married Delores Scovel. Floyd retired from Armstrong Tire in 1987 after 45 years of service. He was a member of Berean Assembly of God Church and the American Legion.
Floyd is survived by his wife, Delores; children, Norman (Jackie) Dare, Janet (Chris) Bishop, Ronald Dare and Jenny (Larry) Slight; twelve grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Virginia Riggle; and brother, Clyde Dare.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Friday, July 19, 2013 at Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th St. followed by burial at Chapel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
