Orville C. Becker, 84, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, September 8, 2013, at his home in Woodward. Visitation will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., on Tuesday, September 10, at the Iles-Brandt Funeral home in Woodward. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, September 11, at the funeral home. In agreement with Orville's wishes, cremation rites will follow services. A private burial of the urn will take place at a later date at Woodward Cemetery in Woodward.

Orville was born November 13th, 1928. He graduated from Woodward High School. He continued his education at Iowa State University. Orville proudly served his country in the Korean War. Upon his return, Orville met Janet Gibbons and married her on May 15, 1954. He was a member of the Woodward American Legion. He was employed as a carpenter at the Woodward State Hospital for 24 years, retiring in 1992. Throughout his life, he enjoyed being with his family, playing cards, fishing, gardening and always doing woodwork projects. Orville will be greatly missed by all of the people that had the pleasure of knowing him.

He is survived by his two daughters, Karen (Bill) Peppmeier of Johnston and Kim (Kent) Porter of Gilbert; four grandchildren, Paul (Cassidy) Peppmeier of West Bend, Sarah (Brad) Pewick of Ankeny, Tabitha Porter of Gilbert and Megan Porter of Virginia Beach, VA; one great-granddaughter, Ayla Pewick of Ankeny; and one sister, Ordelia Loyd of San Dimas, CA. Orville was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Janet and their son, Danny.
